250 years ago, the first generation of Sadaemon tea farmers began cultivation of tea on the family’s plot of land in Okuyamada Ujitawara, Kyoto, the birthplace of ryokucha.

Using traditional techniques passed down through the long history that followed, each generation has worked proudly to produce truly delicious tea.

We are recognized by the Kyoto Company Century Club as a “Kyo-no-Shinise,” or Long-Established Company of Kyoto. Kyo-no-Shinise are designated businesses in Kyoto prefecture with over 100 years of history that uphold the values of family owned businesses and continue the use of traditional techniques and business practices while serving as models in their industry.

Powdered ryokucha

 

Green tea made by grinding tea leaves into a powder, retaining all of the nutritional benefits.
